In addition to our regular and excellent cooperation with the Violić-NadiloMedical-Biochemical Laboratory, for the purpose of simplicity and rapid analysis, we have purchased a test-device for carrying out tests based on the point-of-care principle.
We have selected tests which in our previous practice have shown to be necessary, whether due to inaccessibility, waiting for results or time limitations for taking samples (blood or urine) for testing.
The advantage of testing is that it can be done in our premises at any time of the day during work hours, where results are obtained very quickly, within a maximum of 15 minutes.
In addition to the FIA8000 device from the company Getein Biotech, we have also obtained the following tests (device and tests called “in vitro diagnostics” certified by the Agency for Medicinal Products and Medical Devices of the Republic of Croatia):
From blood samples:
Troponin I-cTnI: the test is designed for quantitatively demonstrating heart troponin for the purpose of detecting and evaluating myocardial infarction.
NT Pro BNP: the test is designed to evaluate the systolic and diastolic function of the heart. It is used to detect heart failure (insufficiencies) in patients at an earlier stage, determine the degree of risk of heart failure, monitor drug efficacy and evaluation of the prognosis of heart failure. Itis also useful in differentiatingdyspnoea and other diseases and disorders. The test cannot be done in any laboratory within the wider area in the country.
Hs CRP (highly sensitive C-reactive protein): is used for diagnosing and monitoring the degree of inflammation, differentiating viral from bacterial inflammation and assessing the risk of cardiovascular diseases.
Hb A1 C -(glycosylated haemoglobin): used for early detection of diabetes and monitoring the effectiveness of therapy in patients who already have diabetes (over a period of three months).
TSH (thyroid stimulating hormone): a hormone that excretes hypothalamus and is directly under the influence of thyroid hormones. It is used for early detection of thyroid functional disorders and for monitoring the efficacy of treatment of already diagnosed disorders.
Also, upon prior agreement, we are also able to acquire sets of allergic tests (from blood samples taken from the finger) for which results are obtained within half an hour.
From urine samples:
Microalbumin: used as an indicator for diabetic nephropathy, hypertensive nephropathy, and early detection of kidney damage.
Tests are not as sensitive and precise as they are in a medical-biochemical laboratory, but in most cases are more than adequate in clinical practice.
