24H, 48H, 72H HOLTER ECG

DESCRIPTION The 24-hour Holter ECG monitoring technique is used during a 24-hour period of recording electrical activity of the heart (see ECG). Electrodes are placed onto the patient’s chest that are connected to a device placed in a bag on a belt, which in turn is fastened around the waist.

This enables us to record/monitor information on heart disorders (arrhythmia, extrasystoles), rapid(tachycardia) or slow work heartbeats (bradycardia), or reduced oxygen supply to the heart muscle (ischemia).

Sometimes, when 24-hours of recording fails to acquire enough information, but nonetheless there is suspicion of a disorder, we set up a 48-hour (or longer)Holter ECG. Our Holter ECG equipment has the ability to make continual recordings of up to 7 days.

Based on the results of Holter ECG, a decision is made concerning drug treatment or further hospital treatment (e.g., pacemaker implant). The results of Holter ECG are available on the same day!

* For inhabitants of the town of Korčula, Zrnovo, Lumbarda and Račišće, we offer the possibility of installing and removing this device at home!
