The Sveti Nikola Polyclinic performs a complete non-invasive cardiac treatment (clinical examination with ECG, echocardiogram, and blood vessels ultrasound, Holter ECG and blood pressure, exercise test, ergospirometry, stress echocardiography, vectorcardiography, oxygen therapy in the magnetic field / multistage supportive treatment modified method by Prof. Ardenne/, and preventive (systematic) examinations especially target groups with increased risk for cardiovascular disease development

We are using modern devices with advanced functions for testing the vascular system – 2D ultrasound system with Doppler and Power Doppler – up to 4D ultrasound and ergospirometry that is unique in the wider geographic area!

CARDIOLOGICAL EXAMINATION

The cardiac examination consists of having a talk with a doctor (concerning medical history), a complete clinical examination using an ECG, echocardiography, colour Doppler of the carotid and thyroid gland.



AMBULATORY CARDIOVASCULAR REHABILITATION

The holistic program aims at coronary patients, but it is also useful for other population that wants to enhance the health of their hearts. It consists of telemetry monitored trainings and supplementary oxygen therapy in magnetic field.



INDIVIDUAL HEALTH SCREENING

Screening is a special type of examination of patients who normally exhibit no difficulties but seek an evaluation of their health status with the aim of early detection and treatment of various diseases and disorders.



PREOPERATIVE EXAMINATION

A standard preoperative internist examination comprises interview with physician (history), clinical examination and ECG. The patient is required to complete lab tests before the examination.



EXCERCISE TREADMILL TEST

That's the method of observing heart electrical activity (ECG) and measuring arterial blood pressure during physical exercise.



ULTRASOUND EXAMINATON

Ultrasound imaging is a method based on the principle of bouncing ultrasound waves from a device, connected to an ultrasound device that acquires grayscale images that illustrate the structure of organs.



24-HOUR HOLTER BLOOD PRESSURE

24-hour recording of arterial blood pressure is a technique that measures blood pressure over a 24-hour period at intervals that are pre-programmed in the device.



24, 48, 72-HOUR HOLTER ECG

The 24-hour Holter ECG monitoring technique is used during a 24-hour period of recording electrical activity of the heart. Electrodes are placed onto the patient’s chest that are connected to a device placed in a bag on a belt, which in turn is fastened around the waist.



OXYGEN THERAPY IN MAGNETIC FIELD

Oxygen therapy subjected to a pulsed electromagnetic field (multistage supportive treatment as devised by Prof Dr von Ardenne) is a particular supportive therapy which is most often applied to diseases of the heart muscle, due to arrhythmia attacks. The treatment is non-invasive, painless and comfortable for the patient.



SPIROMETRY

Spirometry is an examination that assesses the functioning of lungs. The technique is based on parameters describing lung capacity and airway flow that register disorders in respiratory functioning, some of which may require treatment.



ELECTROCARDIOGRAM (ECG)

12-channel ECG: (electrocardiogram) is a scan that prints electrical activity of the heart through the electrodes. This is a simple and quick search, which is today the standard of every internistic and cardiological examination.



OUR TIMELINE

2002.

The Sveti Nikola Polyclinic was founded by Prim. dr. sci. Mila Jakovljević, a cardiologist with many years of experience and experience gained in respectable cardiological institutions in Croatia and abroad, who recognized the need and importance of cardiological diagnostics far from hospital facilities and specialized polyclinics

2004.

We acquired the latest device for ultrasound and started the application of tissue Doppler. Due to the need for widespread ultrasound examinations, the polyclinic introduces abdominal ultrasound, vectorcardiography, blood vessel doppler color

2010.

The latest ultrasound device was acquired, which started with the application of the top-level cardiac methods: tissue Doppler and strain, and another non-invasive cardiologic method was introduced: stress echocardiography with strains, which required the regeneration of the apparatus for ergometry (same year)

2016.

We introduce ambulatory cardiovascular rehabilitation. Cardiovascular rehabilitation programs seek to limit the negative effects of heart disease, reduce the risk of sudden death or recurrence of heart attack, control disease symptoms, stabilize or reduce atherosclerotic processes and improve the psychosocial and work status of the patient
